Congresswoman Jenkins Marks 4th Anniversary Of CFPB By Joining Fight To Eliminate It July 21, 2015
WASHINGTON, D.C.– On the fourth anniversary of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Congressman John Ratcliffe (TX-04) introduced the CFPB Repeal Act of 2015. Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) is an original cosponsor of the bill and released the following statement after introduction of the legislation: “The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was created as result of the disastrous passage of Dodd-Frank. Four years later, CFPB stands as an unaccountable bureaucratic nightmare for small businesses and community banks in Kansas and nationwide. While community banks and small businesses shrink, this agency continues to grow and gain more power all while not having any accountability to the American people. We need to eliminate this unwarranted agency, and continue to remove harmful regulatory agencies generated by Dodd-Frank and this Administration.” # # # |
