A Chance to Choose a Brighter Future

The following are Congresswoman Jenkins’ remarks:
“In 2016, the American people face two contrasting visions for the future: a government that empowers folks or a government that controls folks.
Since I arrived in Congress seven years ago, I’ve worked for a future where folks can control their own healthcare, where individuals can actually do their own taxes and businesses aren’t weighed down under the toll of our cumbersome tax code, and where better government means more state and local control – not more federal regulation.
Tonight, President Obama will again lay out his case for a more intrusive, expansive and ever-present, “we know best” federal government. A government where unelected bureaucrats in Washington make decisions instead of allowing the American people the ability to retain their Constitutional freedoms.
Please listen carefully this evening, because this year, the American people have a chance to choose a vision for a brighter future: one that you control; one where the government gets out of your way so that we can create a better tomorrow and a more confident America.”
