Congresswoman Jenkins' Statement Regarding Ft. Leavenworth, Ft. Riley
July 9, 2015WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) released the following statement responding to the Army’s announcement regarding Ft. Leavenworth and Ft. Riley:
“While any reduction will hurt, and I continue to believe they are severely misguided, the limited impact at our military installations in Kansas compared to other facilities are a testament to the strength, mission, and critical role those at Ft. Leavenworth and Ft. Riley have in defending our nation. I will continue to work with the rest of the Kansas Delegation to keep these installations strong in the coming months and years as the Army seeks to restructure its forces. Rest assured, I will remain a vocal advocate for our defense communities and military families in Kansas."
